Overseas Pakistanis have an integral role to play in Pakistan’s economic development. The Government thus launched a digital e-wallet initiative, known as ‘Roshan Digital Account’ (RDA) to facilitate Overseas Pakistanis for remittances and investments. The highlight of this e-wallet initiative was the lucrative savings scheme, known as ‘Naya Pakistan Certificates’ (NPCs). The project was a collaborative partnership between the Government of Pakistan, the Ministry of Finance and the State Bank of Pakistan, with 13 banks as operational partners.

Despite the challenge of COVID-19, we at Prestige, successfully managed to launch a multimedia global campaign designed to attract Overseas Pakistanis to invest in the NPCs savings scheme. The campaign was launched in key territories including the USA, UK and Middle East. Communication targeted different segments of the Pakistani diaspora, encouraging them to invest in these certificates by making it easy to access them online from the comfort of their homes. As a testament to the ease of investing in Pakistan through the Roshan Digital Platform, Overseas Pakistanis actively engaged in this economic activity generating a remarkable response which saw investment in Naya Pakistan Certificates rising to staggering amount of over USD 2 billion – a record rise in less than a year.
